CUBANS / MUSOPLEX / RAVEN – 22nd May 2008

The Cubans Release New AA single and Remastered Album on RAVEN:

Wolverhampton’s brightest independents The Cubans release a new AA single and remastered album through our friends at Musoplex (the new home of the legendary Framework studios and top producer Si Reeves).

The single, released on 24th May, has received a warm preliminary reception and got its first airing on the BBC WM Introducing show with Daz Hale.

The band and Si were interviewed by Central TV last week.

Live Brum have just Launched the most comprehensive listings site in Birmingham and the RSS feed provided is now embedded in The Music Network site, you can embed it in your site too. Live Brum aims to list every live performance event at every venue in Birmingham UK. You can find events by genre, venue, date or keyword search and comment on any event.

Live Brum is editorially independent from all venues, organisations, bands, & promoters except where explicitly stated otherwise.

Harmonising event data across Birmingham

More than just a website, the Live Brum plan is to accept data in any format (web, email, flyers, word of mouth, etc) and then publish it in a range of standard formats that others can do new exciting things with. Options include:

Andy Derrick – Musicians union

Talked about Soweto Kinch and forthcoming Creative Networks event upstairs from 6pm.

Musicians union provide coffee and biscuits for the network meetings.

Recent MU events in Stoke on trent and Kettering big success. Events dealt with Royalties and Copyright. Mention of Andrew Dubber’s presentation and how inspirational it was for those attending the event.

MU will be launching “Network Musician” in September in partnership with The Music Network.
