Birmingham Music Network Meeting – 4pm Thursday 25th Feb 2016

“We started Birmingham Music Network and The Screen Image Network to act as a meeting point and gathering place for the regions Music and Film community. Together we are creating a new way to work. The two networks are an organic thing that have grown directly out of the enthusiasm of a disparate group of creative individuals. The meetings are for people who are trying to find a different way to make a life and express their ideas outside the structures of conventional business models, academia, government and the funding machinery of the West Midlands.”

The next Music Network will be led by Mark Badger. The meeting starts at 4pm and will finish at 5.30pm on Thursday 25th February 2016 in Room 435 at Birmingham City University, Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham, B4 7XG.

The Music Network Meeting will also include Birmingham Screen Image Network.

Anyone involved in Music or film in the region is welcome to attend, its free and there will be tea and coffee provided.

Finishing a 4 track EP. Planning to release it themselves. Asked for advice and guidance. Discussion followed with suggestions including:
Key Production for Vinyl, Tunecore for digital, Reverbnation, and Bandcamp.

Works with Government backed NCS programme
All about getting young people to do stuff, get them out doing things they don’t normally do
For example: Music, Media, Art, Drama, Photography.
Projects go out into community from food banks to community centres
The Challenge are recruiting Mentors, Creative Leaders, Workshop Leaders
Throughout the summer there are paid opportunities
Fees might be from £80 a day to work with 16 year olds.
