Interactive Music & Sound Design

Guest Speakers – Matt Black and Richard Blackley
www.blitzgamesstudios.com

Creative Networks welcomes Matt Black, Audio Manager at Blitz Games Studios, whose talk will focus on interactive music used in production of the company’s games titles. Founded in 1990 and based in Leamington Spa, Blitz is now one of the world’s largest independent video game developers.

Exploring the collaborative process of fitting the design of the music with the design of the game, Matt will show how that feeds into the composition of the score and how the music functions in the game. Richard Blackley, Senior Audio Designer at Blitz Games Studios, will also be showing several examples of how sound is created and layered, demonstrating third party audio tools, world editor tools and how the playback of the sound is modified at runtime using volume, pan and DSP effects.
