Bearded Magazine is in stores january 29th 2009

As you know, the big news is this:
Bearded is in stores 29 January
That includes independent record stores, WHSmiths, Borders and newsagents across the UK – over 1000 stores in all… so buy it.
On a related note, as you know, Bearded is printed on very special, 100% recycled paper and costs a fortune to print up. As a result, this time around we are going to have an extremely limited number of freebies to dish out which will go to advertisers (still available by the way) and Beardaid supporters. So to guarantee your copy (the last four have disappeared within a day or so), you’ll need to get your friends to advertise (from £70) or join Beardaid for just £2 a month (www.beardaid.co.uk).
Those Beardaid folks will also get free entry to our relaunch party – also on 29 January – at The Macbeth in Shoreditch (door price £5), where the ridiculously talented line-up of Allez Allez, Ratface, Beestung Lips and Ice, Sea Dead People will be entertaining. Flyer and poster art attached if you wish to spread the word.
And on that, please take with you mine and Bearded’s very best wishes for 2009, I’m certain it is going to be a great year – for all of us.
Gareth
PS: Always up for any help, advice or whatnot anyone has – especially regarding publicity for the mag around launch.

Is there anybody out there? guitarist needed by Celluloid

Celluloid have been receiving airplay and live sessions on BBC local radio in worcestershire and have received radio 3 airplay for a collaborative project in the past, also we have an album (blueprints) pressed and ready to be released on our own label www.madswan.co.uk. We have received good reviews of our music and without the input of a guitarist we will not be able to gig. We are looking for someone not only to enable us to carry on performing live but to join in a creative role and influence what we are currently working on now and in the future. If you can help us network this add urgently then thanks, i have been unable to get to the last 2 meetings due to recording committments and am not free for the next.
cheers

                                            Is there anybody out there?
Versatile and creative guitarist preferably multi-instrumentalist wanted by alternative writing/production group Celluloid,

We have good songs, good contacts, lots of experience ……………..
You need to be someone who is creative, talented, driven, with a good understanding of chords, space, fx, dynamics and tension.
Also you must not be frightened to play one note if that is what the music requires, but at the same time can summon up a lateral approach to writing.
Own gear and transport vital.

Our material is expansive, diverse, empty and dense.
Gigs, writing, recording, albums, touring experience, backing vocals an advantage.

Male – female (or both) age, shape, length of hair, size of buttocks unimportant
cinematic,  electronica, post-rock, bowie, massive attack , underworld,
bunnymen, joy division.

We have an album complete and pressed and ready to go on our own label Madswan. You would have material to learn, but more importantly we are also interested in what you can also add to the old and bring to the new too!

We are waiting to finish the lineup before we start pushing the material to agents, and we are entirely self contained as far as recording and production is concerned.
We have already gigged the material and just added a keyboard player to the lineup.

Look at us, listen to us – write to us @
