Scratch Radio has relaunched for 2012 with a refreshed sound and an exciting few months ahead, and an exclusive documentary.

Birmingham’s favourite student station has been off air over the Christmas and New Year break but has relaunched with a new line-up of shows, more music than ever before and exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary.

The return of Scratch also sees a more diverse and varied range of music hitting the station.games downloadfree Using feedback from BCUSU students the Scratch daytime playlists have been revamped bringing a wider variety of new releases and student anthems to air, with a variety of genres from drum and bass to guitar-led indie. From Chase and Status, Jessie J games downloadfree and One Direction to the Arctic Monkeys and Blink182.

A fresh line-up of shows also arrives on station today, bringing the emphasis back to BCU. Weekdays from 5pm Scratch brings you a set of new hour-long shows, starting Monday with the BCU Sports Show – exclusive coverage of Birmingham City Students’ Union’s sports teams. On Tuesday the World Music Hour starts an exciting weekly show for BCU’s international contingent and Wednesday will see an hour devoted to other societies, playing the soundtrack to each society on The Societies Show. And finally join us on Friday for We Love Brum with Sammy Brough and Nardia Millington as they talk to the people behind the biggest events on Birmingham’s calendar for each weekend.

The new 5pm shows join the already massive line-up that students have enjoyed over the last year. With Scratch Breakfast kicking off the day from 11am weekdays and the Niche showcasing everything from new and unsigned talent to film and games reviews from 6pm each evening.
