Most of you know me as a film composer but in parallel with writing music for picture (and theatre) I’ve been composing classical music for several years. After a pretty intensive 9 months orchestrating, rehearsing and promoting, we’re about to premiere my exciting Crossover Classical Group, Fordante. This classically trained five piece ensemble has been formed specifically to play my new music which is inspired by the traditional sound of Venice and blended with the more contemporary styles of film music, creating a fresh exhilarating take on classical music.
The five date tour supported by the UK Arts Council starts on the 13th December. However, we have been asked to perform a special preview concert at the Birmingham Art Gallery & Museum from 11:00 till 12:00 this Saturday 8th November as part of Birmingham‘s Gigbeth Music Festival. So if you’re around it would be great to see you, otherwise more info and samples of music can be found on the Fordante website www.fordante.com.
I’m currently scoring the soundtrack to the Les Dennis film (including a whole host of other well known faces) ‘Waiting In Rhyme’ by Last Independent in aid of the Macmillan Charity which has received a fair amount of press coverage recently.
